Anodising is a dye bath, not a coat of paint, so it cannot chip off. The colour is the metal.

Before you ask
Questions we actually get.
No. At 32 ohms the One is comfortable off a laptop or phone. A good amp adds headroom and control in the bottom two octaves, but it is not a prerequisite.
Currently six to eight weeks. Each pair is assembled by one technician start to finish, and we will not rush the tensioning step.
Send it in. Driver replacement is a flat 240 dollars regardless of cause, including accidental damage, for the life of the product.
The Mono uses the identical driver in a single-cup broadcast housing at 980 dollars. Sonically it is the same instrument.
If it is not the best thing you have put on your head, send it back. We pay the return shipping and we do not ask why.
